Fuel On Demand Mobile EV Charging

The EV Charging Problem

One of the most common challenges associated with EV adoption is range anxiety.

While drivers are accustomed to filling their gas tank in less than five minutes, a Tesla model 3 requires 30 minutes to be charged up to 80%, and provides 196 miles in driving range. The problem is that on some interstate routes and rural areas, there are no charging stations within 196 miles.

As of 2022, there were only 5,900 locations in the U.S. with the fastest Level 3 DCFC chargers available to the public, and the current amount of EVs on the road can’t financially justify the additional infrastructure. The average cost for a Tesla Level 3 Station with 6-8 stalls is $250K. It’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation.

e-Boost Closes the EV Charging Gap

e-Boost addresses the shortage of charging stations without incurring the capital costs associated with the infrastructure and brings EV charging to rural areas. e-Boost‘s Fuel on Demand services provide on-demand fast charging using mobile EV charging trucks with 50-90 kW Level 3 DCFC charging units.

• Emergency charge delivery – No more range anxiety. If a vehicle runs out of power on country roads, back roads, or off-road, it can be charged quickly. Recharging can occur in 10 minutes depending on range desired and an EV’s rating.

• Recharge wherever parked – Improve productivity. Recharge vehicles and equipment directly where they are parked -- on city streets, at office buildings or shopping malls.

• e-Fleet recharging – Reduce operating costs. Less time spent at recharging stations means more time for deliveries. Fast charge e-Fleets with Level 3 chargers without the associated upgrade expense or overnight charging.

Unlike conventional mobile battery charging banks, which must return to a specific charging location, e-Boost mobile EV charging trucks are refueled in as little as ten minutes by local propane distribution partners.

Pathway to Net-Zero

Moreover, e-Boost units are refueled by local Propane suppliers. Propane is one of the cleanest fuels available, offering the lowest in carbon emissions per million BTUs according to the EIA. It does not contaminate the soil or groundwater because it’s non-toxic and non-poisonous. Propane’s environmentally friendly benefits don’t end there. It is a pathway to net-zero emissions with the inclusion of commercial scale renewable Liquid Propane Gas (rLPG) and renewable Dimethyl Ether (rDME) expected in 2022.

Servicing of Units

Charging networks haven’t had the best record for operational maintenance. Charging stations are serviced by their owners, and some simply provide better service contracts than others. e-Boost units are serviced by Pioneer’s Critical Power Group, which has been servicing power generation assets for three decades with a nationwide network.

e-Boost is a product of Pioneer eMobility, a division of Pioneer Power Solutions (NASDAQ: PPSI), experienced providers of off-grid resiliency solutions like distributed power and backup power generation assets throughout the USA. All e-Boost units provide backup power and connectivity in the event of outages.
